MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

Here’s the first thing any of my clients should know about me: I never, ever go into any counselling session with pre-conceived values about their thoughts or behaviour. Once the therapist has a determined set of values, it becomes impossible to provide a non-judgemental platform from which the professionals can effectively work with the client. 

 

I utilise a variety of techniques with my clients, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and family therapy. I see many individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship conflicts—a compassionate and skilled therapist, in my opinion, accompanies their clients on a journey to understand themselves. How do individuals get stuck in a perpetual cycle of negativity? Invariably, such people are trapped by the three Cs: No Control, No Choice, and No Change. All of these thoughts are self-taught; as a therapist, I work together with my clients to explore possible options, take back the control of their lives and start making changes.
